Bus SOS · Your Breakdown Assistance Network

Breakdowns happen. Getting help shouldn't be the hard part.

A driver kicks it off. Dispatch sees exactly where the bus is and which coaches or partners can help. Nearby operators are alerted. All from a phone, with no app to install and nothing to log into.

Every page here works without a login, including the links in the alerts.

How it works · on a phone, no login

From a driver's phone to a coach on the way.

Three levels of participation

Start today, it's free and takes just minutes to setup.

You don't have to change anything about how you run today to take part. Each level adds on the one before it.

3Connect Your Telematics

Put your telematics data to work.

Fleets on Samsara, Motive, Zonar, Saucon or Verizon. Free, like every level.

  • Everything in level 2
  • Send: a dedicated Bus SOS text number. A driver types the bus number on the driver link, or texts SOS, and the bus, driver and live GPS position fill in automatically
  • Receive: alerts when an SOS is near your yards or any of your live buses
  • Your nearest coaches with drive time, driver, hours of service and current booking, so you know who can actually help
  • Add your booking data too and every bus shows its current trip with pickup and drop-off times

Getting set up

  1. Click Register below or email support@initekconsulting.com to enable for your account.
  2. We connect your telematics and assign your dedicated text number. Vehicles, live GPS and driver data flow in.
  3. Give drivers two things: your driver link and your dedicated Bus SOS text number.

What's shared, and what isn't

Help each other without giving anything away.

Yard addresses and phone #s are public. That's the point of the directory. Publishing your yard is what makes you findable in an emergency.
Bus positions are never shared unless you raise an SOS event and broadcast it.A partner's live vehicles are theirs. A sender sees an anonymous count, never a name or a location.
Internal by default, both sides opt inA driver's SOS goes to your dispatch team only. It reaches partners only when you broadcast it, and only those in range who chose to be alerted.

Questions

Quick answers.

What does it cost?

Nothing. Bus SOS is free at every level: the public yard map, a registered yard, and telematics-connected fleets.

How long does it take to join the network?

Just minutes. Fill in the form and our team will review your registration and complete the process. Once enabled, you will receive a welcome email and your yards will be visible to partners.

Do my drivers need to install anything?

No. The driver link and the tracking page open in the phone's browser (no login required). Also, drivers can raise an SOS with a plain text message or pin drop.

Who gets my broadcast?

Only companies that have enabled nearby SOS alerts AND that have a yard or vehicle inside your radius. The dispatcher page shows the count of partners in the blast radius and the yards by name before you send.

Which telematics platforms work with level 3?

Samsara, Motive, Zonar, Saucon and Verizon today. If you run something else, tell us during registration and we'll let you know what's possible. Level 2 works with any operation, no integration required.
